Drawing inspiration from penthouse New York-style apartments – and taking advantage of spectacular elevated city skyline views from this sought after NW corner apartment in East Brisbane – we overhauled a tired and dated dwelling and transformed it into our clients’ dream home.
Gutting the original apartment enabled us to rearrange and optimise the layout to prioritise hosting and entertaining, with a seamless flow of spaces between the open kitchen, bar, dining and living areas, and the generous wrap-around balcony.
Every space – from the high-traffic kitchen and bathrooms, to the impressive living areas and serene bedrooms (which boast city views or look into lush tree canopies) – has been upgraded and optimised for aesthetic and functional performance.
The new design creates a welcoming and inviting home for the owners, and provides the perfect backdrop for them to entertain and host visitors and guests, with an ease that was unimaginable in the apartment’s previous incarnation.
Our interventions produced an apartment that is not only refreshed and modernised, but which capitalises on the location’s significant wow factor.
From the moment you enter – and throughout all of the spaces including public, semi-public and private zones – the view is the hero thanks to the monochrome colour palette. From every vantage point, the design accentuates towards the jaw-dropping panorama outside.
Internally, the use of sleek and sophisticated materials – such as timber panelling for feature walls, marble for the waterfall kitchen island, concealed pivot fixtures on internal doors, luxe matt black fixtures and fittings, including the bath, fridge, tapware and lighting, and tile flooring that cohesively ties all of the spaces together – elevates this apartment to a level of style and luxury befitting its prime location and distinctive outlook.
